Preferences...

Posted on June 25, 2011 at 1:57 AM

My trusty preferences solution from Dreystone Software finally died today with the release of Real Studio 2011r2. So I decided to make my own preference file solution that makes plain-text XML plist documents. I also decided to make it free! I call it XPrefs.

Download an example project with XPrefs module included here. (this example also comes with the awesome color well that I made) If you have any suggestions, improvements, or questions just leave a comment!

This new preferences solution should clear up the errors that some people got when launching Dock Clock 3.

I hope you are having a great summer!

@dazz Thanks for the suggestion! I plan to release a new version with this and many other improvments later tonight.

hello

great stuff, i was thinking rewritting my prefs files to plist, might use your module. thanks a lot ! :)

just a thing tho, maybe you need to prefix the methods in your XPrefs module. like "ToString" becomes "XPToString" because their global.
for example in your main window you write "TextArea1.text=Xprefs.ToString"
but "TextArea1.text=ToString" works the same.
